How to search for peptide synthesis reagents or peptides

This section contains links to resources that will allow you to search multiple companies at once to find the amino acid, peptide, or peptide synthesis reagent you need. If you cannot find your product from a link listed here, try our section covering peptide synthesis reagents and peptides.

If you wish to suggest or update a link, please email us. Also, please DO NOT email the Peptide Resource Page to buy a product. We are not a vendor or manufacturer. Thank you in advance.

1. There are several free online services that allow for multiple searching of companies when looking for peptides or peptide related reagents. These websites may cover less companies than the services listed below in section two, but they are more accessible.

  • BioSupplyNet - an online guide for researchers to find peptide-related supplies. Search by keyword entry or by searchable categories such as peptide synthesis reagents, peptide substrates, peptide analysis reagents, etc...  One can also obtain a list of pertinant companies and contact information.

  • emolecules - a free, online, and searchable way to find a variety of commercially available chemicals, including amino acid derivatives, peptides, coupling reagents, etc... One can search the catalogs of 150+ suppliers by trivial name, trade name, CAS number, SMILES format, or structure. The result is a sortable list of structures, suppliers, product number, and various chemical properties. This website is recommended for its broad coverage and ease of use.

2. Many searchable chemical databases exist which will allow you to find a wide variety of chemicals, including amino acids, peptides, and peptide synthesis reagents. Typically, one can search based on structure, name, formula, supplier, etc... Unless indicated otherwise, these resources require the installation of proprietary (and sometimes costly) interface software dependent on an Oracle® or Windows® server database:

  • Available Chemicals Database (ACD) - offered by Symyx - a large structure-searchable collection of commercially available chemicals which shows pricing and supplier information for over 1,160,000 unique chemicals from 840+ suppliers worldwide
  • DiscoveryGate (ACD) - a second way to access ACD offered by Symyx. Same as above but allows researchers to use ACD in a web-based environment using a browser interface.
